Hi, my name is Avil Beckford, and this is the latest episode of the One Problem podcast. There are tons of problems in the world. We will not worry about all of them because we're tackling one problem at a time. Now, most of the people who come on as guests, I have some sort of prior relationship with them. And this is the case with Jackie Maclean. I met her on LinkedIn. Now, Jackie is an energy innovator and clinical hypnotherapist. Over to you, Jackie.
Jackie Maclean
Thank you, Avil. And thank you to your listeners for joining us today. Let's get started. So how many of you would love to wake up ready and eager to tackle anything that comes away? Raise your hands. I can see it. And how many of you want to improve your problem-solving and decision-making skills so that you increase your performance? Well, you're definitely in the right place. So I'm excited to share my three-minute productivity enhancer that's going to help you remove stress and overwhelm to increase your focus and enhance your productivity in just three minutes a day. Who wants that? Great.
So this talk is for you. If you're fed up feeling overwhelmed and stressed to the point that your productivity is diminishing, costing you thousands of dollars in lost revenue, you wake up and the first thing you feel is dread, tired, exhausted, irritable all the time. So today I'll teach you a simple technique that will help you relieve stress so that you gain more clarity and can focus for longer periods of time. We start with the stress crusher exercise. I call it the pico pico. It will help you let go of all the stress you've been holding on in your body.
Jackie Maclean Teaches Us How to Release Stress with Her 3-Minute Exercise
Before we begin, let's take a moment and think about what's going on in your world. How many deadlines have you missed? How many balls are you juggling? Felt a little panic when you woke up today? Or thinking about the bills you need to pay? Perhaps you lost a very valuable client. We are always talking about how stressed we are. We have the attention span of a goldfish. And we are bombarded with information coming to us all the time.
Jackie Maclean
And we are not even aware that we are a frog in the water, getting hotter, hotter. It's boiling, and we don't even know enough to jump out. It's a crisis in today's world that we don't know how overwhelmed, how overstimulated we are. And that impacts our relationships, our health, our finances. And ultimately, it's our ability to focus and to destress that's important.
So, all right, give me a number. On a scale of zero to 10, 10 being the highest, how stressed are you today? Make a mental note of that. Now make yourself as comfortable as possible, feet flat on the floor, and you may choose to close your eyes if you wish. And, of course, please do not do this if you are driving. All you have to do is simply follow my instructions. So take in a nice deep breath, deep from the belly.
And as you do, put the focus on your crown, the top of your head. Hold for four, opening the mouth slightly, focusing on the navel, breathing in deep from the belly, putting the focus on your crown, the top of your head. Hold, opening them out slightly, focusing on the navel. Take a nice deep breath, deep from the belly, focusing on the crown, the top of your head, holding and exhaling.

Nice deep breath, deep from the belly, putting the focus on the crown, the top of your head, hold, opening them out slightly, focusing on the name. And now, eyes open. So how was that feeling? By how much did your number drop? And that was under 58 seconds.
Jackie Maclean
Next is the countdown. The countdown will help you come back to center so you'll be able to focus on your projects for longer periods of time. Again, make yourself as comfortable as possible. Close your eyes if you choose to, feet flat on the floor. And simply follow my instructions, taking in a nice deep breath. Now, in your mind, count from ten down to one.
And between each number, say deeper, relax, ten. Deeper, relax. Nine. Deeper, relaxed. Eight. Deeper, relaxed. Seven. Deeper, relaxed. Six. Deeper, relaxed. Five. Deeper, relaxed. Four. Deeper, relaxed. Three. deeper, relaxed. Two. Deeper, relaxed. One. And eyes open.
How much calmer do you feel? How much calmer do you feel in your body? Make a note of that. So this makes up my three-minute productivity enhancer. And practicing this will help you be more productive and effective in your life. And when you take this amazing first step, in just three minutes, you can center your world.
You can calm down, you can increase your bandwidth, focus on your projects for longer periods of time, increase your productivity, and gain more clarity. I invite you to make this a daily practice. And if you have any further questions on how to practice this amazing, powerful tool, please direct your questions to me at www.thepowerwithin.ca. Thank you. And now back to you.

Thank you so much. So that's a very easy meditation to do. Yes, and I can see how it's beneficial. What I do is something similar to that. Like, I count down from ten to one.
Jackie Maclean
Beautiful.
Avil Beckford
I go to level, so I know it works. It keeps you calm, you're relaxed, yet alert. I can see how you can work for longer periods of time. So thank you so much, Jackie, for being on this podcast with me.
