Is Love Enough
Hello, today, I'll be talking a little bit about something that's new and dear to my heart. My name is Avil Beckford, I'm accustomed to doing tons of interviews, but this is something new. I wanted to explore a Problem/Solution so, I get different people, and they'll talk a little bit about a challenge, problem, issue, that they're passionate about and then spend five to ten minutes talking to us about their cause and their solution. The intent is for us to learn from each other and to learn what's important to others.

Today, the first person I'll be interviewing is Kelly Daring. She is the author of Is Love Enough: Worth Holding onto Or Time to Let Go. So, Kelly, it's over to you. You have five to 10 minutes to talk. So talk about your issue or passion, your problem, and what is the solution you offer.

OK, thank you. So my passion in life is about helping women and relationships that are not healthy, not working, not happy.
And so my passion is to help women to understand that they have a way forward, that they deserve to feel loved, that they deserve to live in a safe home, and that their children can also live in a safe home. So this is my passion.
What I find is that sometimes women, after they've had children or they don't believe in themselves, begin to think that certain behaviors from their partner are acceptable or that they don't deserve any more than what they occasioning.
And I think this is really sad. I think it's really, really sad when women don't value themselves. Maybe they were never taught how to. Maybe they weren't shown the love that they needed as children. So they become adults and then they still don't believe that they of love that is kind and healthy. And they become stuck. They become stuck in relationships that are sad and toxic. , I have trained as a therapist and I work with couples and I work with individuals to help people understand that they can live a life that is really good.

That is that they feel like they belong. I feel like they are loved and that I can provide this environment for their children. So what can happen is that if people think that this is their life, this is the lot, this is all they deserve, then they may continue in this life.
But I am here to help people see that there is a different way. And so my solution to this problem. Is about really identifying what makes you feel good. How do you feel every day in your relationship? Do you mostly feel loved? Do you mostly feel that you can express yourself with your partner? Do you feel like your children are happy in this house? Do you feel like they have a voice? And so it's about really listening to yourself and believing that you are worth more than someone might tell you, that you can really go inside yourself and think.
Why should I find this acceptable? And start to challenge yourself and start to challenge the behaviors that aren't good enough anymore. And so the way to start changing this is to try and talk to a counselor, talk to a therapist. And there's plenty of free services in many different countries where you can get access to a therapist and starting to talk and share how you feel will help you understand that you are worth more than you are worth living a life that's happy and feels good.

Thank you. Thank you so much Kelly Daring.
Today, in the interview with Kelly Daring, as I mentioned before, she talked about an important topic, domestic violence.
“Global estimates published by WHO indicate that about 1 in 3 (35%) of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime. Most of this violence is intimate partner violence.”
