In the interest of learning how to properly utilize Pinterest, I have been reading Pinterest Kindle books that I found for free at Digital Book Today. I got the tips for this blog post from How to Use Pinterest – How To Share Your Ideas, Brand Yourself and Have Fun Playing Around on Pinterest by Josh Loposer and Kate Buck; and PINTEREST: How To Market Your Business With Pinterest by Gabriela Taylor.
- Your About Section: Rewrite your About section (I have to redo mine) to include what you are interested in, the link to your website and make sure you verify it so that it is visible on your profile, and use your keywords for SEO purposes. If you have a business account, list your products and services, and your call to action.
- To maximize your visibility on Pinterest, comment on other people’s pins.
- How to find out what people are repinning from your website: http://pinterest.com/source/yourdomain.com.
- Add the “Pin It” bookmarklet to your browser.
- Add a Pinterest social share button to your site to make it easy for people to pin from your site.
- Link to your Facebook and Twitter accounts.
- To secure more followers: Post daily, post original content and repin other people’s pins, comment on posts, find people in your niche and follow them, and invite your customers to join Pinterest and ask them to follow you.
- Make sure that all the photos on your blog have alt tags.
- Optimize your boards: Write a powerful 500 character description of what your board is about and add your keywords, and make sure that you select the proper category.
- Optimize your pins: Write a description of your pin including your keywords, and include a call to action.
