I read a lot. I love books. However, I do not like getting books as gifts. When people buy books to give as gifts, they often buy books that they like, and not necessarily books that the other person would like. That’s been my experience. Because someone is a book lover doesn’t mean you have to give her a book. Remember, it’s not about you, it’s about the other person. Think of her as a multidimensional person, who plays many roles, and have many likes and dislikes. With that mindset, you will always have many options for appropriate gifts. You can find many perfect gifts for book lovers that aren’t books.

I bought the Echo Smartpen and notebooks a few years ago. I love the digital note taking pen. The one criticism I have is that I have to pay attention to how I write and make sure that my handwriting is legible. The computer needs to be more sophisticated when converting your handwriting to digital text.
When I am taking notes and rushing, my ‘v' looks like a sloppy ‘x'. The computer should not interpret it as an ‘x' because 10 chances to one, there is no such word. If the book lover in your life has neat handwriting, this would make a perfect holiday gift.
