The Innovation Stack: Building an Unbeatable Business One Crazy Idea at a Time
As I was walking, I was reminded that it's time to write an article about bookish gift ideas for small business owners. This year has been a crazy one. And I wondered how I could best serve you.
I’m feeling a certain amount of angst. There are so many people riding the same bandwagon and saying the exact things. How can anyone stand out?
I want to make it easier for you, so I hope this post is helpful to you. As a way to give back, in April I hosted Read 30 Books in 30 Days. Although I created the event, I actively participated. And one of the things I noticed, was out of the 30 books I read, I considered only about seven of them great books. Sadly, many of the books were saying the exact same things. I was delighted when I came across the unexpected.
With that in mind, for the bookish gift ideas for small business owners, I want to first focus on books that are not necessarily bestsellers, but have an important message. Additionally, as a way to continue to build my brand, I created some swag for my company. I have also included the links to the merchandise. Your continued support means a lot to me.
Reading a book summary is an excellent way to get the key concepts from business books. It’s also a great way to decide which books to buy to explore more deeply. Click the Readitforme link to join. Think of this subscription as your speed-reading superpower. You read the summary, therefore, you can digest and process the book faster.
Bookish Gift Ideas for Small Business Owners: Reading List
Several people have told me they're having a hard time focusing because of what's going on in the world. The pandemic fills people with uncertainty. And Black Lives Matter makes many more conscious about the injustices in the world. Because of the pandemic, many business models no longer work, so small business owners have to find new ways of doing things.
As a start, the antidote is a way for people to focus on the things that matter. Two books that come to mind are The Bullet Journal Method
and Mind Hacking
. After you've regained your focus, to pivot, you need to find the right opportunities to pursue. The go-to books in this instance are The Obstacle is the Way
by Ryan Holiday, Opportunity by Eben Pagan and The Art of Possibility
by Rosamund Stone Zander and Benjamin Zander.

How do you plan to capitalize on the opportunities? It's worth checking out The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington and 0.1%: Join The Club of The Richest, Healthiest, Happiest
by Simeon Ivanov. It's always a good bet for a small business owner to devour Zero to One
by Peter Thiel and Innovation Stack
by Jim McKelvey.

Bookish Gifts for Small Business Owners: Literary Board Games
I grew up in Jamaica and for a long time, there was only one television station. To pass the time I read books. Reading is often a solitary activity. So what else can bookish people do? I used to love playing board games with friends and family. Playing a board game is a great way to have family time.
It was very gratifying to discover literary board games. If you're a Jane Austen fan, you may appreciate Marrying Mr. Darcy Board Game and Pride and Prejudice Trivia Game. Are you a fan of Dune, the science fiction book? You may want to give Gale Force Nine Dune Board Game or Dune Ixians & Tleilaxu House Expansion.

I love Sherlock Holmes, so I was delighted to see Deluxe 221B Baker Street Board Game — 200 Intriguing Adventures, Sherlock Holmes — The Thames Murders & Other Cases, Sherlock Holmes Consulting: Detective Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures Strategy Board Game, and 221 B Baker Street: Sherlock Holmes, The Time Machine.

Booktastic Modern Best-Selling Fiction Edition reminded me of the Monopoly game, except in this instance, you're buying, selling and collecting books. Bookopoly is another spin on Monopoly. This fantasy game, Ex Libris, allows you to channel your inner librarian. Which rare books will you get to organize?
A story start is so important. It Was a Dark and Stormy Night tests your knowledge of popular first lines, the name of the book and its author. I'm sure you're familiar with Trivial Pursuit, but did you know about Trivial Pursuit Book Lover's Edition?
