Why This Workshop is Different
- We Allay Your Fears: You do not have to read every word. We give you the permission to skip so you can find the 4 percent that matters.
- We Confirm Your Suspicions: You have suspected that most business books are repetitive. We teach you to throw rocks at the enemy of wasted time and passive consumption.
- We Justify Your Failures: You have not failed to learn: you have simply lacked a mechanism to turn passive notes into active decisions

- Apply: Define the starting point and select the right books.
- Connect: Bring multiple books into a unified conversation.
- Elaborate: Identify patterns and expand your insights.
- Innovate: Create new connections and breakthrough strategies.
- Test and Track: Select one high-impact action to get meaningful results.
Why Reading More Won’t Fix This
You don’t need another book.
You don’t need a better summary.
You don’t need a new system for highlighting.
You’ve already done all of that.
And yet—
When it’s time to decide, lead a conversation, or solve a real problem…
The insight isn’t there.
Not because you didn’t read enough.
Because you were never shown how to use what you read in real time.
“Taking this workshop transformed the way I approach nonfiction reading. I now approach reading with intention and purpose, gaining knowledge faster and more effectively.”
— Amanda DaCosta, Resilience Coach, Creator of the ALIGN Framework & Speaker
The Real Problem
Most people read for completion. Finish the book, capture a few ideas, move on.
But completion doesn't create capability.
Over time, you end up with ideas you can't access, notes you don't use, and knowledge that never translates into action.
That's the gap.
“I'm making progress with books that were gathering dust on the shelf.” — Yamini Virani, Global Revenue Enablement Leader, Executive and Leadership Coach, Forbes Coaches Council contributor
What This Workshop Actually Changes
This workshop moves you from reading, then remembering, then hoping to use it, to reading, then extracting, then deciding, then acting.
You stop treating books like information. You start using them as tools.
“Taking this workshop with Avil was a game changer. I'm far more efficient with my reading, and what I distill from books is now more valuable and relevant.” — Ruth Bay, Brand and Messaging Strategist, Fractional CMO
How the Workshop is Structured
Each day is two hours of focused instruction, followed by an optional two-hour Implementation Lab.
You learn the method. Then you apply it immediately, before you leave.
No waiting. No forgetting. No drop-off.
Day 1: Strategic Reading (From book to Decisions)
- The Goal: Use one book to solve one real-world decision in 60 minutes.
- The Method: Learn the Eisenhower Matrix for Books to eliminate reading guilt and focus only on what is urgent and important.
- The Result: You leave with a clear direction you can act on immediately.
“I've learned how to be a more efficient reader of nonfiction books and how to set objectives at the outset for a more impactful learning experience.” — Patricia Roberts, J.D., Chief Operating Officer, 529 College Savings Expert, Published Author and Speaker
Day 2: Syntopical Reading and Intersection Thinking
- The Goal: Move from “One book equals an answer” to “Multiple books equal judgment“.
- The Method: Engineer collisions between disciplines. Take an idea from one field, such as Biology, and apply it to Business to create a new strategy.
- The Tool: Visual Synthesis (Mind Mapping). If you cannot see your thinking, you cannot improve it. We use mind mapping as a thinking surface to reduce cognitive overload.
“I quickly streamlined how I research and synthesize knowledge for client work, saving time while gaining depth.” — Penny Archer, Virtual Assistant / OBM
THE ROI OF APPLIED KNOWLEDGE
- Decide faster by focusing only on the “signal” in a text.
- Act with clarity by turning observations into usable principles.
- Reduce costly mistakes by using multiple perspectives to improve judgment.
Applied knowledge is power. Use what you read. Decide better. Act faster.
What's Included
Every participant receives:
A Day 1 Executive Workbook and a Day 2 Executive Workbook, designed to guide your extraction and synthesis work during each session.
Three Custom GPTs built specifically for this workshop. One helps you extract insights faster. One helps you connect ideas across sources. And one helps you turn notes into action. You will learn how to use all three during the workshop. No prior AI experience needed.
Eight Bookish Notes after the workshop to support your continued practice.
Lifetime recording access for both sessions.
The FACE IT Framework 1-pager.
These are not extras. They are what make the application stick.
The Implementation Lab
Most workshops teach. You understand it, you leave, and nothing changes.
That's not happening here.
Each Lab opens with a short presentation that reframes the problem and sets up the work ahead. You don't walk in cold. You walk in focused.
On Day 1, the framing is direct: most people read, leaders decide. Then you use one book to work through one real decision, using the workbook and the Custom GPTs to extract insights, connect them to your situation, and commit to a specific next action.
On Day 2, the framing shifts: one book gives you perspective, multiple books give you judgment. Then you work across 3 to 5 sources, identify patterns, synthesize a viewpoint, and make the call.
Each Lab ends the same way. One action. A deadline of 24 to 48 hours. No action means no result.
You don't leave with ideas to think about later. You leave with a decision already made.
“Avil helps leaders learn how to learn, process, and use knowledge to be more effective. I've been through her program and am better for having invested in it.” — Margye Solomon, Strategic Leader and Lifelong Learner
What You Walk Away With
A method to decide what to read and what to ignore. A system to extract what matters. A way to turn insights into real decisions. Actions already defined before you leave.
You won't leave with notes. You'll leave with direction.
Who This Is For
This is for you if you read nonfiction regularly, you highlight and take notes but don't use most of it, you want to make better decisions faster, and you are ready to close the gap between reading and doing.
This is not for people who don't read. This is for people who read and want results.
Not in a formal C-suite? No problem. This works for fractional leaders, emerging executives, specialists with organizational influence, and anyone who solves problems using knowledge.
“Avil's program is a godsend. I have ADHD and dyslexia. Business books were a chore. Her executive reading approach was the perfect antidote: an incredibly useful tool for busy professionals.” — Peter Laughter, Leadership Raconteur and Keynote Speaker
What Makes This Different
This is not a reading workshop. This is not a note-taking system. This is not more information.
This is a decision and execution system built on top of what you already know, supported by workbooks and Custom GPT tools built specifically for the method.

FAQ
Is this about reading faster?
No. This is about using what you read.
What if I already take notes?
Good. Now you'll turn them into decisions.
What if I don't finish books?
Perfect. You won't need to.
Will I actually apply this during the workshop?
Yes. That's the entire point of the Implementation Lab.
What are the Custom GPTs and do I need experience with AI?
No prior experience needed. They are tools built specifically for this workshop. You will learn exactly how to use them during the session.
What should I bring to the Lab?
On Day 1, bring one nonfiction book and an actual decision you are facing. On Day 2, bring 3 to 5 books or you can use the Bookish Notes I provide and the same decision or a new one. If the decision isn't real, the Lab won't work.
Can I attend if I have ADHD or dyslexia?
Yes. One participant called it “a godsend” for that exact reason. Strategic reading cuts the noise so you spend less time on material that doesn't serve you and more time on what genuinely applies.
Final Close
You don't need more information. You need a way to use what you already know.
