A friend took us to dinner and a live performance of the Alvin Ailey dance troupe on February 4th. I was concerned when I arrived at the theater because there were over a thousand people in attendance. Most of them were unmasked. Because of this, I was tense at first. Then I relaxed into the music. For me, the Alvin Ailey performance was a moving and stirring performance. I had goosebumps when the dancers moved rhythmically to “I Been ’Buked” to the rousing “Wade in the Water,” and the triumphant finale, “Rocka My Soul in the Bosom of Abraham.”
