I usually write about leadership, career, books, and reading strategies. So you may wonder why I’m writing about Toronto, a thriving city with something for everyone.
A friend sent me an Instagram reel about writing a blog post about your city. That reel triggered a memory, and that’s why I’m writing about Toronto. I used to use Lunchclub, a business matchmaking service. One week, through the platform, a young lady requested to meet me. Her husband was coming to study at one university outside Toronto and she wanted to learn about our city before they arrived here.
I was gracious and talked to her. But I was extremely upset because she was using the platform in a way not intended. She caught me off guard. There are many online options to learn about any city in the world. So why use a business platform to talk to someone when you know you don’t want to talk about business?
Over the weekends, if I have time, and remember, I’ll write about topics like these so you get to know more about me and the city I live in.
