Born October 21, 1956, Carrie Fisher is the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds, and singer Eddie Fisher. Her parents divorced when she was two years old. Fisher is best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars. She started off her acting career, starring in performances with her mother, Debbie Reynolds. Carrie Fisher quit Beverly Hills High school to join her mother on the road.
In 1973, she co-starred with her mother in Irene, a Broadway show. This launched her career. That same year, she enrolled in the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She would stay there for 18 months. She wanted to become better at her craft. In 1975, she got one of the many big opportunities in her life. She starred in the film, Shampoo, with A-listers, Warren Beatty, Goldie Hawn, Julie Christie. Life kept on getting better.

Besides acting, and writing books, Carrie Fisher also worked as a rewriter and script polisher. She became one of the top script doctors in Hollywood. The high points in her career, was marked with low points as well. It wasn’t smooth sailing for Carrie Fisher. In 2006, she wrote and performed her one-woman show – Wishful Drinking. She published Wishful Drinking as an autobiographical book, which was a bestselling memoir.
Carrie Fisher openly discusses her drug addiction and obesity. Some people were very vocal about her appearance in the latest Star Wars, released in December 2015. It is worth noting that she was in a relationship with Dan Aykroyd years ago, and was married briefly to Paul Simon.
