Last week we celebrated International Women's Day and for the month of March we are also celebrating National Women's History Month in the United States, Australia and United Kingdom. We have profiled many women leaders who have changed the world to make it easier for those who follow them. Some of these women have fought for the right for women to vote, and for pay equity. Others have made an impact in the scientific realm, and mentored others, making it easier for other women to become scientists. Today we honor a few of these women leaders, and please take the time to read or re-read their profile.

There is much that we can learn from these 10 women about service and solving societal problems. Besides Eleanor Roosevelt who was a First Lady, many of the women were ordinary people like you and me, yet the way they lived their lives, teach persistence and resilience. They are women leaders!
