Introduction: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, or do you? While going through old blog posts, I found “What We Can Learn from St. Patrick’s Day,” where I talked about the history of St. Patrick’s Day, and have a not very good video, which I recorded with the phone I was using in 2010. I decided that I would not repeat what I already wrote, but instead focus on celebrating.

St. Patrick’s Day is also a time when friends go out for a drink after work. I am not a drinker, and never have been, but if I am invited out for a drink, I usually go and have a non-alcoholic beverage.
I have been invited to such an event later today, and I said yes, because for the first year after my mother died, I hadn’t really been in touch with many people in my network, and this evening is a time for me to reconnect with people, and to also meet new ones. It is also a time to celebrate the simple things in life.
I am discovering that most of us, myself included, do not celebrate enough in our lives, when there is always something for us to be grateful for. We shouldn’t have to wait for a special day such as St. Patrick’s to get together with friends and colleagues.
We can celebrate the successful completion of a project. Since the year started, I have made the time to attend more events and to get together with others. And yes it is cutting into my reading time, but building relationships is very important, and this is something I have to do to become less introverted.
So how do you intend to celebrate St Patrick’s Day?
