Interesting Places to Visit in the World, Part 2
During the first Virtual Literary World Tour, interviewees told us about some interesting places to visit in the world. I have extracted these interesting places to visit so that the next time you are planning a vacation you can keep them in mind. This is Part Two of Interesting Places to Visit in the World.
Vanessa Erogbogbo: Interesting Places to Visit – Uganda
Uganda is a beautiful country, unspoilt by industry/modern world. A host of unique activities/places to visit for tourists such as mountain gorillas, source of the Nile, white water rafting, mountains. And warm happy people who welcome everyone with open arms.
The Austrian Consulate: Interesting Places to Visit – Austria
Two off the beaten path places to visit in Austria:
- The wine country on the eastern part of Austria (Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria, Vienna)
- The Lake District outside of Salzburg
Rodger Harding: Interesting Places to Visit – South Africa
South Africa is known as a World in one country! Incredibly diverse, the people are fascinating as is their history. The early history, colonization, the diamond/ gold rushes and the English/Boer strife that culminated in Apartheid… and its eventual overthrow … culminating in the Truth & Reconciliation process is a story that should inspire oppressed people worldwide.
Virginia Littlejohn: Interesting Places to Visit
Bali is my personal Shangri-La. It’s a fascinating culture that throbs with art, gamelon music that puts you into a trance, shadow puppetry, floral masterworks, monkeys, breathtakingly beautiful rice paddies adorned with statues, architecture that embraces the outdoors, anthropomorphic funeral pyres, and deeply spiritual people. Avoid the beaches and go to the interior. I hope this magical island never succumbs to full-on tourism.
