Introduction: Mastering Quantum Jumping and PhotoReading
I want to tell you about two things I am committed to mastering this year.
Quantum jumping and PhotoReading.
I know. That is not what you expected from The Book Queen. Bear with me. Because by the end of this article you will understand exactly why these two things matter deeply to everything I do and everything I am building.
What is Quantum Jumping?
Quantum jumping was developed by Burt Goldman, an author, artist, and teacher who spent decades studying the mind and its extraordinary capabilities. The premise is both simple and profound. In quantum jumping you access alternate versions of yourself in parallel realities, versions who have already mastered the skills, achieved the goals, or become the person you are working toward being.
You are not just visualizing. You are connecting with a version of yourself who has already figured it out.
I have read Goldman's book on the topic. I have watched a YouTube video where he guides you through several jumps. I watched it more than once. I have done several jumps on my own.
And I will be honest with you. I do not yet feel confident that I know how to quantum jump.
That admission matters to me. Because I think there is something important in it.
The Question of Expertise
Here is something I have been sitting with.
On TikTok there are people talking about quantum jumping. Teaching it. Guiding their followers through the process. And I find myself asking a genuine question, not a dismissive one. Where did they get trained?
The way they teach it is often different from the way Burt Goldman does it. Different language. Different steps. Different visualizations.
Is that a bad thing? I genuinely do not know.
What I do know is that this question matters.Today, anyone can position themselves as an expert in anything, the responsibility falls on us as learners to question, to discern, and to seek the original source before we follow someone else's interpretation of it.
I am not saying the TikTok teachers are wrong. Some of them may be brilliant. What I am saying is that expertise deserves scrutiny. Credentials deserve examination. And curiosity about where someone learned what they are teaching is not skepticism. It is wisdom.
Question everything. Including the people who seem most confident.
The New Raikov Effect
Recently I was thinking about a quantum jump I wanted to take. I could not quite remember how a person on TikTok structured her meditation. I was turning it over in my mind when I heard something that stopped me.
Use the New Raikov Effect and you are that person you wanted to be.
The New Raikov Effect is a technique developed from the original work of Vladimir Raikov. He was a Soviet psychiatrist who discovered that people could dramatically improve their skills by deeply imagining themselves as someone who had already mastered those skills. The New Raikov Effect builds on that research and structures it into five steps.
Step One: Picture Your Genius
Imagine your genius in your mind. Think of them as a separate person. Get a big, bold, colorful picture of them in your head doing what they do best. If visualizing is difficult, describe the details of this person out loud including how they look and behave. It works just the same way. For me, I visualized one of my doppelganger who had already mastered what I wanted to master.
Step Two: Swap Heads
See that person in front of you. Keep focusing on the special talent this person has and then put on their head like a hat. Lift their head off their shoulders and place it over your own so they merge together. Or simply imagine yourself stepping forward and merging into their body. The imagery of putting someone’s head over mine is disturbing to me, so I step into their body.
Step Three: Act As If
With their head on your shoulders, you act and think as if you are that other person. Change your body posture to match theirs. Smile, breathe, and think like they do. Everything you see and do happens through their eyes and senses. Imagine yourself performing their skill just as they would.
Step Four: Anchor
You can feel the character trait you want getting stronger and stronger inside you. When it reaches a peak, anchor it to your body and mind by pressing your thumb and forefinger together. In this step, I alter it slightly. I use the Silva Method’s three fingers technique where you press the tip of your thumb to the tips of your (forefinger) index and middle fingers.
Step Five: Take Action
Use this powerful new skill or talent to do what you want to do at your earliest opportunity.
This is not woo woo. This is grounded in decades of research on how the mind learns, adopts, and integrates new capabilities. And when I heard it suggested as a bridge to quantum jumping, something clicked for me.
Be open to trying things in new ways. Even if the path looks different from the one you originally planned to take.
What Does Any of This Have to Do With PhotoReading?
Everything. Literally everything.
PhotoReading is a methodology developed by Paul Scheele that allows you to process written material at extraordinary speeds by engaging the whole mind rather than just the conscious analytical mind. I have attended a live session with Paul Scheele. I have been through the recording multiple times. I bought the workshop before I even attended the live session because I believed in what it could do for me that much.
PhotoReading is not speed reading. It is something different. It works with your mind's ability to absorb information at a level below conscious awareness and then activate that information through a structured process of review and engagement.
Why does mastering PhotoReading matter to me so specifically?
Because I am The Book Queen.
Because the more books I can process with depth and intention the more I can apply. The more I can apply the more I can build. The more I can build the more Bookish Notes I can create for members of the Institute for Applied Knowledge. The richer the experience becomes for every leader who joins the membership.
Mastering quantum jumping will help me master PhotoReading. Mastering PhotoReading will allow me to process more books and apply the knowledge to my business. And applying more knowledge means more value for everyone I serve.
Everything is connected.
The Version of Me Who Has Already Mastered This
There is a version of me who has fully mastered quantum jumping. Who uses it naturally and confidently as a tool for growth. Who has also mastered PhotoReading and processes books with a speed and depth that most people would find extraordinary.
That version of me is not a fantasy. She is a possibility I am actively working toward.
The New Raikov Effect says I can step into her. Quantum jumping says I can access her wisdom. PhotoReading says I can feed her mind with more knowledge than I ever thought possible.
I do not have it all figured out yet. I am still learning. Still practicing. Still questioning whether what I am doing is right or whether there is a better way.
But I am committed. To mastery. To openness. And to try things differently when the original path is not yet fully clear.
And I am committed to sharing the journey honestly because I believe the leaders I serve deserve to see not just the polished outcomes but the messy, curious, and sometimes uncertain process of becoming.
That is what growth actually looks like.
Question everything. Stay open. Keep going.
How Quantum Jumping and PhotoReading Connect: Final Thought
Everything I do is connected to one goal. Processing more knowledge and applying it in ways that produce real results.
If that resonates with you, the Applied Knowledge Is Power workshop was built for exactly that purpose.
Two days. Live on Zoom. May 20 and 21. Small group. Hands on work with a real book you are currently reading or have recently finished.
You will leave with a framework that changes how you read, process, and apply knowledge for the rest of your career.
