Extreme Reading Challenge Month Five: Read a Classic That You Have Always Wanted to Read
If you are like me, you probably have many classic literature books that you’ve been wanting to read, but haven’t been able to do so yet. I grabbed Scaramouche off my bookshelf, dusted it off and read it for Extreme Reading Challenge Month Five. I really enjoyed it. Last year, publisher Penguin, celebrated its birthday by publishing Little Black Classics
. These are short literary classics that you can read during your commute. This is an easy way to read the classics.
Extreme Reading Challenge Month Five: Read a Graphic Novel That’s a Retelling of a Classic Book
Graphic novels are not books that I usually read. But they are important because they can bring a story to life because of the images and the way of depicting the story. This is also a way for people who do not like to read, to develop a love of reading. I read Jungle Tales of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I enjoyed the story because I learned what Tarzan was like before he met Jane. Most book stores have a section dedicated to graphic novels. Browse the section and you’ll find a classic that you’ve always wanted to read.

Extreme Reading Challenge Month Five: Read a Book About Someone’s Journey – Inner or Outer
I thought it would be interesting to experience another person’s journey via a book you read about her or him. Examples include: Walden,Into the Wild, and Wild. I read Into the Wild, and although it was a great book, it was also a difficult book to read, primarily because of the content.

Extreme Reading Challenge Month Five: Read a Book About Your Favorite Hobby to Become Better at It
With the busyness of life, you may find it difficult to work on your hobbies. But we need other interests to give us a break from work. For instance, my hobbies are reading, travel and photography. Except for reading, I haven’t spent much time traveling, but I have taken a few photographs. I decided to read Agatha Christie’s The Grand Tour. The book is a travelogue, so there are many diary entries with accompanying photos. For those who are Agatha Christie fans, you’ll like this book.

Conclusion: Extreme Reading Challenge Month Five – Read Europe
I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating, since I want only the best for you. To successfully complete the extreme reading challenge, you have to read every day. Read books of varying lengths to enable you to read more books.
Getting the Most from Your Reading
And whenever you are reading a book, even a non-fiction one, make sure that you take detailed notes. Combine the big ideas from the different books you read to generate a hybrid idea.
If you read this blog regularly, you know that I purchased the Livescribe Echo Smartpen because I didn’t want to have to type up my notes. I take notes by hand because I tend to remember more of what I read when I do that. A couple of day ago while flipping through the March 2016 issue of Entrepreneur magazine, I noticed a little blurb by John Patrick Pullen about the Wacom Bamboo Spark, which is another product to digitize your note-taking. What I liked about this product, is that you can use any type of paper, and it works with the iPad. I plan to buy an iPad in the next three weeks, so this is another product I’m considering. Then I’ll have more than one option to digitize my notes.
