I recently got an email from Amazon, and I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. I don’t remember ever getting such as email, so I’m not sure if it’s a new service. But I must admit that if I'm feeling overwhelmed because of email overload, I often delete many emails without reading them. So, I could have missed it, if it's not a new service. The email is about Amazon recommendations, based on what visitors from my website search for on Amazon. The main reason why I am presenting the list of books here is because they are diverse in terms of subject matter. I always write on this blog about the importance of reading broadly, so it makes sense for me to turn the email into a post. The Amazon recommendations somewhat fit the bill.
If you're looking for more diverse reads, I have some recommendations for you to think about before you look at the Amazon recommendations. But keep in mind, there are also some books worth the read on Amazon's list. I think it's worth mentioning that you can learn important life and career lessons from virtually any book, even if it's what not to do.

Double Indemnity: This is a book that I had forgotten about. It is a suspense novel and one that I want to read. This is a welcome reminder for me to read it. I love mysteries.
Superintelligence: I researched this book on Amazon because it is one of the books that Elon Musk recommends. I bought it last week and plan to read it over the next three months. Another book that Elon Musk recommends, which is not on Amazon's list, is Structures
. I recently bought that one as well.
Story of Philosophy: This is a book that is a timeless classic. So it usually appears on the must-read lists. It's on my list to read one of these days.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame: I haven't read this book, but I want to read it. I saw the movie a couple of decades ago and I have wondered how close the film follows the book.
The Island of Dr. Moreau: I know of this book, but it isn't on my list of books to read. I could change my mind because I do like HG Wells.

The Ghost and Mrs Muir: I was surprised, but delighted to see this on the list because I loved to watch the series on TV when I was much younger.
The Talented Mr. Ripley: I haven't seen the film or read the book. But I do like Patricia Highsmith. I enjoyed her book, Strangers on a Train
. Not sure yet if I want to read the Talented Mr Ripley.
Sell or be Sold: I have never heard of this book before, but I do like Grant Cardone. I really enjoyed The 10X Rule
by Grant Cardone. The book brings a lot of traffic to my website.
The Time Machine: I have already read and reviewed. Sometimes reading science fiction makes me anxious because it reminds me that sometimes the content is just a step ahead of reality.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: It's a book I want to read because I love Jules Verne. I have the e-book version of the book.
Journey to the Center of the Earth: I read and reviewed this book. I really enjoyed reading it.

The Importance of Being Ernest: I have seen the play and read the book years ago. The post that gets the most traffic on my blog is the Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde. I tried to deconstruct the book review to get insights into what to do for other book reviews, but I seem to be missing something.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde: I read and reviewed this book a few years ago.
If You're Not First, You're Last: I got this in audio format from Audible. I'm not sure why I did it since audio books put me to sleep. Now having said that, I do want to read the book because I really enjoyed The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone. The book brings a lot of traffic to my website, so if people are researching his other books, that's information for me.
Howard Hughes: His Life and Madness: This is another of the books that Elon Musk recommends. I want to read it, but at close to 700 pages in length, it will have to wait.
How to Be Invisible: I have never heard of this book before. It's also unlikely that I will ever read it. It's possible that a readers clicked a link from my website, and while on Amazon they searched for this book on their own.

The Mysterious Island: I have never heard of this book before, but I love Jules Verne, so I'll probably read it.
Oscar Wilde's Wit and Wisdom: I know of this book, but hadn't planned to read it. All the reviews I do on Oscar Wilde books get a lot of traffic.
The Complete Poetical Works Of Edgar Allan Poe: I do have this book and plan to read it. Since it's comprised of a series of short works, I will read it over time.
The Iliad: I have this book, but haven't read it. However, I have read Homer's Odyssey
, which is the second part to the story about the Trojan War. The issue for me is that when I read the second part of the story before the first, I'm hesitant to read the first because I feel like I'm going backwards.
The New Science of Strong Materials or Why You Don't Fall through the Floor: This is a book that I will unlikely read, but it reminds me of Structures, one of the books Elon Musk recommends.
The Lessons of History: This is another book that is a timeless classic that's often on must-read books. I am not a history buff, so I probably won't read it.
Seuss-isms! A Guide to Life for Those Just Starting Out: I read and enjoyed a few Dr Seuss books. Not sure if I will read this one.
The Ghosts of Buxley Hall: I heard of this film years ago. Not sure if I will watch it though.
