Introducing the Rainbow Book Cover Nonfiction Reading Challenge. When you hear Rainbow Reading Challenge, what image comes to mind? While scrolling through Instagram Reels, I saw a video for a Rainbow Reading Challenge. The creator of the Reels read fiction books that had a cover the color of the rainbow. Except there were six books because she left out the color indigo.

I run challenges in my Facebook group, so I thought I'd do a Rainbow Reading Challenge in September. I decided that I would make the challenge more difficult by including the color indigo. And participants would only read nonfiction books that they thought were worth reading, and would add value to their lives.

To get started, the first challenge I gave myself was to find books I owned in my Kindle app. It was a time-consuming process. I thought I was being smart by doing a search on Google for books with rainbow covers. Unfortunately, the results I found were for fiction. The other thing I did was to research what indigo looked like. Although I chose some books, I'm not certain that the color of the covers are actually indigo. Now I know why the person who created the IG Reel didn’t include it in the reading challenge.

Conclusion: Rainbow Book Cover Nonfiction Reading Challenge

As far as book cover colors are concerned, some colors are more popular than others. In terms of books that I actually want to read, white, red, blue, orange and yellow book covers are very common. It took a lot of time and effort to come up with books for some of the colors. My choice of books for indigo cover is suspect at best. That was difficult and now I know why the person who created the IG Reel omitted that color. One thing I wanted to add is that often the e-book cover is different from the paperback or hardcover. I've used the color of book covers for e-book.
