What is an invisible mentor?

An invisible mentor is a unique leader (role model) you can learn things from by observing them from a distance.

What’s the purpose of invisible mentors?

Every problem that you could possibly ever face, there is someone, somewhere, who has faced that exact problem, and you can learn from them. That someone is your invisible mentor. I bring you a variety of invisible mentors so that you can learn from their experiences. Please refer to The Mentors’ page where you will find invisible mentors in the form of people who I have personally interviewed, and profiles of wise people who I have researched.

How can I make use of invisible mentors?

Having a mentor is vital in today’s world, but having one mentor is simply not enough because no one person can assist you with all your needs. Invisible mentors make great complements to traditional mentors. Reading about the experiences of others, not only will help you to get to know yourself better, but it also helps you to generate great ideas. You can find great invisible mentors by reading books, and listening to interviews with people who you really admire. Please refer to The Mentors’ page for recommendations.

Where can I find invisible mentors?

Invisible mentors are everywhere. Think of them as role models – the people who you admire. Think about people who have successfully traveled the path that you are now on, and perform research to learn more about them. Please read How to Choose Invisible Mentors, and The Mentor as Invisible.

Are invisible mentors the same as invisible counsellors?

More or less! Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich (affiliate link if you’d like to purchase the book and read), used the term invisible counsellors for the people whose behaviour he imaged. He spent a considerable amount of time researching these people so that he could get to know them. Please refer to The Mentor as Invisible, Napoleon Hill Did This, And You Should Too, and What Did Napoleon Hill Omit? Invisible Counselors vs. Invisible Mentors. Invisible mentors can be very useful to you, but there are no shortcuts. It will take less time to research people today because of the internet, but you have to put in the effort. I have made it easier for you with this blog, so that you have a starting point. If you read the profile for someone who sounds interesting to you in the Wisdom of Life series, I always provide a list of the sources I referenced.
