This year on The Invisible Mentor Blog, we will still have book reviews, profiles of wise people, interviews and articles, but they will be more structured. As I mentioned before, the books I read tend to be from the West, so this year I’m being more intentional, and I will take you on a virtual literary tour around the world. Over the Holidays, I spent a lot of time choosing books from around the world that I would like to read, and I have secured half of them already. I will start the tour by April 2013 to give me enough time to read the books and write the summaries.
Additionally, I have reviewed the interview questions and fine-tuned them, and the interviews are a lot shorter and will be presented on one day instead of two. Over the past month, I have been conducting interviews and I have some scheduled for this month. No later than February, the interviews will reappear. I am giving myself enough time to transcribe them. I do not like transcribing interviews because it is very time consuming, but the actual process is good for me because I am reminded of the interview and I hear new things. Depending on how things proceed, I may have to outsource the tasks. Voice recognition software has not worked very well for me.
I have files of research for the people who I plan to profile, but I’d like to change the format of the profiles to focus more on what we can learn from these wise people. In addition, at the end of most posts, I will add a Did You Know section. I’m excited about this learning journey with you and I hope that we will learn from each other.
What do expect from yourself in 2013? Please write your comments in the box below.
