What’s Your Summer Project?
Once upon a time I used to give myself summer projects to work on, personal things I was interested in accomplishing but didn’t have the time otherwise to do them. One year my summer project was reading the entire Bible, which I did, but cannot say I understood a lot of what I read. Even though, I had many accomplishments just by doing projects in the summer, I stopped doing it and I don’t know why.
This year I decided to reintroduce my summer project, and my goal is to enjoy the “classics,” and also learn more about innovative thinkers and pioneers who helped to shape our world. I am doing this for myself, as well as to get great content for this blog. I am as excited as a child let loose in a candy store about what I’ll uncover. I wonder what I might learn in the process.
Have you ever had personal summer projects that you have worked on, things important to you, that you never get the opportunity to do? Is there a skill that you’d like to acquire? How about a craft that you’d like to learn? Or a subject you’d like to master? How much time would it require to complete this project? If you carved out some time each day you may be able to complete a summer project.
Life is too short for us not to do the things we enjoy. We may not have the perfect job, but we need to make time for the things that feed our soul to balance things out. How can you use this information? What do you have to add to the conversation? Let’s keep the conversation flowing, please let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
